Shaky Bridge Pinot Noir Rose 2018 Case

The Shaky Bridge Pinot Noir Rosé is  robust and full of  rich flavours.  Aromas of wild strawberry and cream with a candy  floss edge.

A  touch  of residual sugar which softens the acidity on the palate providing  a lush yet crisp finish. Perfect to drink on its own, this wine is delicious with brunch or lunch, and pairs incredibly well with spicy dishes.

Pinot Noir grapes are destemmed and crushed, then left to cold soak for 60 hours before the tinted Pinot Noir juice is fermented in stainless steel to retain the fresh and vibrant character of the fruit. The goal with this Rose was to create a brilliantly coloured, inviting wine that was neither bone dry nor a candy filled, sweet treat. Halting fermentation once the Rose reaches a taste-determined residual sugar level, allowed Dave to combine just a dash of sweetness to balance the fresh acidity of our fruit, adding an extra dimension of flavour and creating a deliciously easy drinking Rose for pure enjoyment.

About the Winemaker.

The son of wine-growing pioneers William and Gillian, David was literally born on the Home Block, and has wine in his veins. Growing up he helped his parents out in the early years of planting vineyards on the Dunstan Road site.

Studying winemaking through EIT in Hawkes Bay, he began making wine in 1997 and has worked with a number of highly skilled winemakers from around the world over the years.

Dave was a finalist in the New Zealand Winemaker of the Year awards in 2005, and has been steadily collecting awards since. In 2018, the Shaky Bridge Pioneer Series Pinot Noir won New Worlds Champion Pinot Noir & Champion Red Wine in their annual competition with an overall 96 points.

Davids philosophy on winemaking stems from his belief that the best wines are crafted by allowing the wines to speak for themselves.
